Copywriting For Search Engine Optimization….and Web Visitors Too | David Jackson's Biz Copywriting For Search Engine Optimization....and Web Visitors Too - David Jackson's Biz

So you’ve performed your keyword research and you’ve checked the websites that are ranking highly for your keyword. Now it’s time for website copywriting.

Given that you’ve spent time finding lucrative keyword phrases, it’s only natural that you would be focused on putting them to use. But now I’m advising that you forget about them. Place them fully out of your mind and consider your target client.

You should write for your ideal website browser first. What you create has to engage them so they’ll hang out and read it and it has to be persuasive so they’ll sign up for or buy what you’re offering.

So how do you write persuasively? Here are a handful of guidelines.

Begin with a promise in the title. For example: “With our step-by-step instruction you’ll be playing piano in days instead of weeks or months. Guaranteed.” See how the title focuses on the benefit. Not only that, it quickly takes away the risk with the word “guaranteed.”

Make it believable. You can do this with a testimonial or by citing a research study that proves your point.

As you create the story, focus on the web visitor. That means making sure you use the word ‘you’ a lot more than ‘we’ or ‘us.’ When you focus on ‘you’ it engages your reader and it forces the copywriter to consider everything from the reader’s point of view.

Finish with a compelling call to action. Tell the website visitor specifically what you want them to do and they’re considerably more likely to to do it. That’s why there are a lot of websites that say ‘buy now.’ It’s been tested. It works.

After you’ve finished writing persuasively, you can edit your copywriting to include your keywords in the proper proportions and place them in prominent places. So use these guidelines and create a persuasive website optimized for the search engines, or contact a website copywriter who can assist you with copywriting for SEO.
